Frustration to Freedom: My Gut Health Journey
I’m Dana Silver, a Certified Health Coach specializing in gut health, nutrition, and mindfulness. Located near the Rocky Mountains in Western Canada, I love spending time outdoors, finding inspiration in nature, and joy in life’s little moments.
It took me years to realize the missing piece in my health journey wasn’t a new protocol — it was listening. I had ignored my body’s signals for so long that my symptoms became louder than my voice. In my mid-30s, my body started sending signals I couldn’t ignore: bloating, discomfort, and multiple food sensitivities that made no sense.
I turned to mainstream medicine, expecting answers, but instead, I found frustration, confusion, and no real solutions. The more I searched, the more I realized I was stuck in a cycle of trial and error, restrictive diets, and temporary fixes that never addressed the bigger picture.
So, I took a different approach. I stopped following external rules and started listening to my body, my symptoms, and my instincts. Instead of buying generic solutions, I looked at what my body truly needed. Over time, I discovered that gut health isn’t just about food, it’s about the way we move, think, and make decisions for our wellbeing.
By integrating primal health principles, intuitive nutrition, natural movement, and mindfulness, I finally found lasting relief. I reconnected with real food, a way of moving that felt good, and daily rhythms that supported my body, rather than working against it. Becoming a certified meditation yeacher deepened my understanding of how gut health and mindfulness are intertwined, reinforcing that true wellness is not about restriction, it’s about alignment.
